Join me on my journey as I experience first hand how to use and utilise (hopefully) my new pressure cooker.

Hi, I am Kathleen, experimental cooker/ mother/ cleaner/ taxi driver etc.

Trying just like most people to achieve all of these things without ruffling a feather, and with increasingly little time to do it.

As a strategy, I had adopted several survival methods to get me by, the main being that I had set a base dish for each day of the week, that's right, no surprises around here thank you very much.

Every Monday is pasta night, as you know, Monday's a busy day and after all, who's got time to think of a creative, wonderful dish for dinner!

Tuesday is Chicken, as Monday usually consists of beef mince, there's a need to lighten the protein the next day, schnitzel is the usual request.

Wednesday is sausages or chops, alternating between the two.

Thursday should be burrito night, but ends up being pizza for some reason.

Friday is fish night. Not particularly for religous reasons that it started as in my childhood, but for the reason we need to include fish at least one night a week, so this does it for me, and continues tradition.

Saturday is a bit confusing for me still, I haven't worked it out quite yet, we all eat, that I know, I'm just not sure what. It's too busy, or rather I'm in a nice wine haze and dinner just suddenly appears magically from the kitchen gods!

Sunday is the good old Sunday roast - or Tom Cruise as my brother has called it for years, since the lovely Nicole mentioned it.

It was time for a change. I needed it to change, things were too boring to continue!

"Time for a revolution of the culinary variety" I thought - well, I wish it had been that eloquant.

"I want to cook something different" repeated itself on a regular basis.

What to do though?

I was looking for this 'something' for quite a while, but how would I change things, what could I do to stave off the cuisine drought in my kitchen? And how to produce it easily, on time and on budget?

Enter, the Pressure Cooker ...

What can you expect to find here?

My ramblings mostly, of trying to produce the extraordinary, to find that culinary creative streak that exists, surely, somewhere between memories of smells of kitchens from childhood, to rushed pulling down of cookbooks and shuffling through pages to web searches.

There might just be the odd musings of daily life thrown in with hopefully a positive outlook and a bit of humour.

There might even be a recipe every now and again...
